Morocco Mortgage Information

Although, Morocco is a recent emerging market there are now several mortgage products available to non-residents that will enable you to comfortably afford your purchase or for you to take advantage of multiple purchases, thereby enhancing your investment.

Although, not as developed as in Spain, there are several routes available. Purchasers from the UK and Ireland can release equity on their home property, repayment and interest free mortgages are also available to borrowers on both off-plan and resale properties.

Equity release

A popular method for UK and Irish purchasers is to release the equity release from their property at home.

Interest only mortgages

As the name suggests, only the interest is paid on this type of mortgage and the entire purchase price is repayable when the purchaser decides to clear the mortgage. Interest free mortgages are only available for a limited time of three years.

Purchase price: 80.080€
40% deposit: 32.032€
Mortgage: 48.048€

Monthly repayments on a typical interest only mortgage on 5.5% interest would be only 220.22€, that’s only 7.24€per day.

Repayment mortgages

Generally repayment mortgages last for 25 years. The borrower will repay both the capital borrowed and the interest charged on the entire sum.

Example
Purchase price: 80.080€
40% deposit: 32.032€
Mortgage: 48.048€

Monthly repayments on a 25 year typical repayment mortgage on 6.32% interest would be only 319.04€, which is only 10.48€per day.
